Accident Reporting in the Workplace - £50.00pp

This Accident Reporting in the Workplace course provides essential training on the correct procedures for reporting accidents, incidents, near misses, and dangerous occurrences within the workplace. Delegates will gain a clear understanding of their legal responsibilities under the Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 2013 (RIDDOR) and how accurate reporting supports a positive health and safety culture.

The course provides practical guidance on incident investigation techniques, promoting best practice in recording and reporting, while supporting a proactive approach to accident prevention.


Course Aim

To provide delegates with the knowledge and skills required to report accidents and incidents correctly in line with workplace procedures and legislation, whilst improving incident investigation skills and promoting continuous safety improvement.

This course is suitable for managers, supervisors, team leaders, health and safety representatives, and employees responsible for reporting or investigating accidents, incidents, or near misses within the workplace.


  

Learning Outcomes

 

By the end of this course, delegates will be able to:

  

  • Understand the legal obligations of employers and employees regarding accident and incident reporting in accordance with RIDDOR 2013.
  • Identify what types of incidents, injuries, occupational diseases, and dangerous occurrences require reporting under RIDDOR.
  • Recognise the importance of timely and accurate reporting and the implications of non-compliance.
  • Complete accident report forms and internal documentation accurately and in line with company procedures.
  • Understand the role of the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) in incident reporting and investigations.
  • Apply basic incident investigation techniques to determine the root cause of accidents and identify contributory factors.
  • Understand the importance of preserving evidence and gathering accurate information following an incident.
  • Implement preventative actions based on investigation findings to avoid recurrence.
  • Promote a proactive health and safety culture by encouraging near-miss reporting and hazard identification.
  • Understand the importance of maintaining accurate records for monitoring trends and improving workplace safety.
