This one-day Emergency First Aid at Work course is designed to provide essential lifesaving skills and knowledge for employees working in low-risk environments. The course covers the key responsibilities of a workplace first aider, equipping delegates with the confidence to respond effectively in emergency situations and provide immediate assistance until professional medical help arrives.

This training supports compliance with the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 and promotes a proactive health and safety culture within the workplace .

Course Aim

To provide delegates with the skills and understanding to manage incidents involving injury or illness in the workplace, apply basic life support techniques, and respond appropriately to medical emergencies.

Who Should Attend?

This course is ideal for nominated workplace first aiders in smaller businesses or low-risk environments, such as offices, retail, schools, or hospitality settings.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, delegates will be able to:

• Understand the roles and responsibilities of a workplace first aider.
• Assess an incident quickly and safely, ensuring protection for themselves and the casualty.
• Manage unconscious casualties, including placing them in the recovery position and monitoring vital signs.
• Perform effective Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) on adults.
• Gain awareness of the safe and correct use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
• Provide treatment for minor injuries, including:
• Cuts, grazes, bruises, and minor burns.
• Nosebleeds and splinters.
• Manage choking incidents and assist conscious or unconscious casualties.
• Recognise and respond appropriately to bleeding, shock, and medical conditions such as seizures.
• Understand the importance of workplace accident reporting and completing incident record
