This Legionella Awareness Training course provides essential knowledge for those responsible for managing water systems within buildings, helping to prevent the risk of Legionella bacteria developing and causing serious illness such as Legionnaires’ Disease. The course provides an overview of the conditions that promote the growth of Legionella, the potential sources of contamination, and the preventative control measures required to manage water systems safely and in compliance with current legislation. Delegates will gain a clear understanding of their roles and responsibilities under the Approved Code of Practice (ACoP) L8 and HSG274 guidance, helping them to implement safe systems of work and support public health within their premises.
Course Aim
To provide delegates with an understanding of Legionella bacteria, associated health risks, and practical control measures to prevent exposure, supporting compliance with the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002 (COSHH) and ACoP L8.
