Face Fit Testing 

Course Aim

Our Face Fit Testing service provides a practical, compliant solution to ensure that individuals required to wear tight-fitting Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE) are properly fitted and protected in the workplace. In line with HSE guidance (INDG479), this service ensures that RPE provides an adequate seal and effective protection for the wearer.

Who Should Attend?

Any employee who is required to wear tight-fitting RPE, including disposable masks, half masks, or reusable respirators, as part of their role within the workplace.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, delegates will be able to:

• A fully trained and competent face fit tester from arlo consultancy services will conduct the test.
• A qualitative fit test will be carried out using an approved bitter or sweet taste solution method.
• The individual will be guided through a series of exercises to check the effectiveness of the mask seal under working conditions.
• If the test is successful, a Face Fit Certificate will be issued, valid for the specific make, model, and size of the mask tested.
• If a test fails, advice will be given regarding alternative RPE options or mask adjustments.

Duration: Approximately 30 minutes per test.
